Graduation Recognition Ceremony 2017
The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing and Intercampus Program in Communicative Disorders Graduation Recognition Ceremony is a formal event that honors graduating seniors, masters, and doctoral students. Graduates must wear cap and gown to participate. Masters, AuD and Ph.D. students should bring their hood for the ceremony. The number of guests you invite to the Ceremony in NOT limited and no tickets are required to attend.

The University of Kansas Commencement is a less formal, no ticket required, all university graduation event for several thousand students held outdoors in Memorial Stadium each May. The "walk down the hill" is a fun tradition where students often bring balloons or decorate caps and gowns. You can participate if you are planning to graduate in summer 2017 but your name will not appear in the university wide commencement book until the following year.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Kansas-sponsored events. We have wheelchair accessible seating, aisle seating and available seating closer to the stage area. Auditorium doors open one hour prior to the ceremony.

Announcements should read: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of General Studies in Liberal Arts and Sciences majoring in "Speech-Language-Hearing" / Master of Arts in "Speech-Language Pathology" / Doctor of Audiology / Doctor of Philosophy in "Audiology" or "Speech-Language Pathology"
Students should arrive at 120 Budig Hall at 12:15 p.m. to fill out a registration card. Line up for "green screen" photos and be ready when called for graduate group photos. Groups will be called according to their degree- 1) Undergraduates, 2) Graduates- M.A., 3) Graduates, AuD, 4) Graduates-PhD, 5) Faculty. Guests should arrive early enough to be seated by 12:50 p.m.
Caps, Gowns and Hoods (where applicable) are required to participate in the graduation ceremony. Guests dress ranging from casual to formal is acceptable.
Diplomas are now made available at the KU Visitor Center after they are printed. Diploma info.
Seniors expecting to graduate with Highest Distinction (top 3%) and with Distinction (top 10%) will only be noted in the KU Commencement Program Book.
Students in the University Honors Program may wear white honor cords previously given out.
No formal printed invitations will be mailed. Students will receive an email invitation to the Recognition Ceremony from the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing. If an email invitation is not received, and you are expecting to graduate, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. All fall 2016 graduates and those planning to graduate in spring 2017 and summer 2017 are eligible to attend this ceremony.
